The TechStars Accelerator accepted 8base to its Austin, TX chapter’s winter cohort, alongside nine other awesome companies. The party started yesterday, and several of 8base’s team members are already on-site in Austin. Everything will run until early March when the program finishes with an epic Demo Day that leads into the South-by-Southwest Festival (SXSW).
Techstars is one of the top startup accelerator programs in the world and has a 1-2% acceptance rate. They’ve helped approximately 1,900 companies raise upwards of $7.6 billion in funding and create over $22 billion of market capitalization.
The two most valued Techstars’ companies are developer-focused, just like 8base! They are SendGrid, an email marketing API company acquired by Twilio in 2019 for $3 billion and Digital Ocean, a cloud computing company that is a unicorn, worth more than $1 billion.

It’s going to be a fast-paced and exciting 3 months. That said, we’re going to be heads-down working hard to take 8base to the next level. We’re excited to say that we’ve decided to (joking… this is mandatory at TechStars 😅) begin sharing weekly updates about our experience in the program and progress as a company.
